I left out the part about the sling attachment thing. I want it to rip off skin like a cheese cutter,if it happens that way. I also like the really early 3 prong flash suppressors, you can sharpen those like an apple core remover. It's a fantastic rifle.

Not an AR but close. Wanted a FDE but i couldn't find one in Stock anywhere but gunbroker. Found this one at Pugulia's. Trying to decide if I am going to SBR.

Before I considered SBRing a SCAR, I would buy the HANDL Defense magnesium lower and the KDG Stock kit. After I bought the upper, I would add on the KDG MREX Mlok rail.

My next purchase. I think I am going to leave it 16. I have enough other SBR's to play with.

Seriously consider the HANDL Defense lower. It will take the SR25 pattern mags which will save mag costs by a large margin (almost half).

I already have 7 SCAR mags.

Any recommendations for who does the best engraving? (Lower receiver for SBR)

So if the barrel I've selected has a .625 gas block journal do I need a .625 gas block or am I supposed to go bigger?

In addition to my gas port question above, does buffer weight make a difference? Would a heavier buffer reduce recoil?

Has anyone in the Hammond/BR area gotten a new individual trust since the July 13th deadline?

It's subjective. The rule of thumb is - go with the heaviest buffer that cycles every time - which probably takes a lot of rounds, with a broken in weapon, to really confirm/verify. What the heavy buffers are managing is bolt bounce. It would be critical with fully automatic cycling, verging on critical with burst and really nonessential for purely semiautomatic cycling. Bolt bounce, for some folks, increases the subjective felt recoil, but I believe this effect is mainly in the "echo" recoil from the bounce which may cause you to overdo your stabilization and increase the time you need between shots.
I'm not a fan of bolt bounce, but it's not worth it to eliminate at the expense of reliable cycling.
You're going to have more recoil with a carbine spring and buffer than a rifle spring and buffer, regardless of the weight. Personally, I think heavier weights reduce subjective recoil impulse as it slows down the rearward travel of the buffer and spring compression and makes it more focused. The Vltor is supposed to be the best of both worlds, but I've yet to try it.

I know nothing about gas blocks. I would defer to Prop, then Carson. If they don't know, nobody knows.

The only reason a trust would really be necessary now is if you wanted other people to be able to use your rifle without your supervision, correct? I'm currently trying to decide which route to go and am leaning towards just filling out form 1 as an individual. The only other person who may shoot my SBR would be my wife and I know she wouldn't be at the range by herself. Are there any other benefits to a trust nowadays with the new trust requirements in effect
