well went ahead and ordered a mega forged lower.
really wanted to wait until they dropped below $130 but my luck something will happen and they will sky rocket in price again.

I don't follow. Granted, it's been a while since I read the article but it was through a car door and into soft gelatin. So you have a very tough skin and soft tissue conversion. Seems like great expansion and great weight retention.

He's referring to that video. 1 shot didnt make it through because it hit an area of the door that was reinforced with a couple more sheets of steel. Another hit the very edge of a cross beam, causing it to take a hunk of steel into its hollow point which in turn led to expansion failure. The only one that actually just went through the outer and inner sheets of steel performed as designed.

That was the maten (308). That will be my next build. I need a 5.56 version for the Mk 12 mod 0
I'm working on. But yeah thats the thread i keep an eye on as well. I caught 3-4 billet lowers in stock, but kept missing on the upper/lower combos. Finally just bought a lower and will try to find a separate upper. But if the combo pops up again I'll get it and sell this lower.

Well my bad 100%. I dont remember watching that exact video but I am about to watch it now. I just know the soft tissue results of that bullet done by many researchers (term used loosely).

Yeah that video is only a few days old. One of the first I saw on the caliber though was this same guy shooting watermelons with various rounds (subsonics, match rounds, hornady 300 whisper, etc).

If its the one that I am thinking of: the UMC 115 grain was okay and average while the Barnes was HOLY shite!
