usually the more it costs, the more worth the cost it actually is. but best of luck, don't want you to flood to learn a lesson. Me, i'd rather carry flood nearly more than a homeowner policy.

If I wasn't above the flood plane I would obviously have it, but for a $140k home I didn't think the premium was worth it. For that extra money, I could just buy a nicer home.

And I'm not flooded yet, it still has another 12" maybe. But if the past few hours are any indication, it is just a matter of time.

My delivery truck isn't gonna make it. Said hwy 90 around new Iberia has standing water.

Co workers just showed me a picture of coteau Rd and 182 at the Valero. At least a few feet of water.

shite is getting real in the low parts of Old Goodwood. I've got a large, secure and dry back patio if anyone needs to store anything.

Mid city checking in. I'm high and dry but there is about 2 inches of water in my garage. If it gets any worse we will be dragging out the wakeboard winch

I'm in Zachary. It's pretty bad here. Got a bit of water in my house and have been fighting a losing battle with a shop vac and a small pump all morning. Think I've got things to a manageable level now.

Anything I can do to help you? I'm just across the river, New Roads area.

Most of you have common sense so this may be a moot point but... don't let your kids play in floodwater.... especially flooded streets......

1. whole lotta nasty stuff in flood water..

2. drain covers and man hole covers can get blown off -- i don't care who you are... you step in that.. you gone....

You check KATC's website of Facebook page? They have been broadcasting nonstop since 7:15 this morning and there are several areas having issues south of town.

Can you stream their live feed out there?
