I got a 2008 Toyota Rav-4 for a daily commuter to work, so I don't put miles on my truck. It's got around 180,000 miles (haven't checked in a while since I keep odometer on trip for mileage.) I drive ~480 miles per week. It's burning about 1qt of oil every 800 miles. Since I've gotten it, I've changed the oil every 3,000 miles with high mileage synthetic oil, but it seems to be a waste of money ($70 per oil change) if it's going to burn that much. Is there any fix?

No smoke, but I fear the catalytic converter is trapping the smoke so I don't see it. I'd hate to have to replace that soon, too.

If it's not leaking it's using it. First thing i would do is change out the pcv valve. If it's hanging open too much it could be sucking too much and pulling oil out of the crankcase.
Other than that it's going to be valve guides or piston rings.

I haven't seen any signs of it leaking. I didn't even think of the pcv valve. Thanks!

I was reading that Toyota thinks 1qt per 1,000 miles is normal. My first '99 Tacoma could go 10,000 miles w/o an oil change and not burn a bit of it.

i tmay be within their specs but it definitely is not normal in the least.Normal would be a 1/2 quart in a 3000 mile interval
