I searched some old threads and found a lot of noteworthy posters recommending Cooper Discover AT3s. Are these still the shite or is there a newer tire out there that's as good a bang for the buck? I'm coming off of the Cooper Zeon LTZs

I know I know, i should just get BFGs, but I'm still in school and would rather not blow that much

I wanted the cooper discovers when I bought. The reviews were hard to beat and it looks good. However I got a good deal from a company we do business with and ended up with a set of dynopro A/T. I've had good luck with it and will probably go back with them when I need a new set.

After researching I'm getting the Toyo A/T II tires. Haven't gotten them yet so can't give you a personal experience but everything I've heard and read has been good.

You can get mastercraft axts for supercheap and they are a great street AT.

I run duratracs on mine. Mastercraft MXTs on the wife's.

does $1154.20 sound right for a set with mount and balance? that's what skidmarks quoted me. im about to call Allied on Staring and see what they have. Would be convenient since i could just walk to work after i drop my truck there

i wonder what kind of savings you get from ordering tires online and just having a shop install them.

Just got a set of bfg ko2 and I really like them. I had a set of at3 on my old truck and they were great as well. The bfg are more expensive but well worth it. Should get 60k or more out of them. Can't go wrong with either tire

Allied will frick you. SkidMarks should price match whatever deal you can find. I bought my Toyo AT2s from discount tire shipped to my office. Still, with 20" rims, they were $1400. I'm right at 50k on them. Wet tractions isn't that great IMO, but they're smooth and decent enough off the pavement.

I second skid marks..priced matched my ko2 and they have great service. Plus you get two free oil changes and tire rotations for life of tires.

$924 mounted and balanced, tax included. I went ahead and told them to order. that's a HUGE price difference

I usually check prices on Treaddepot.com and compare with tire store quotes. For instance, a set of 255/85-16 toyo MT's is 1100 on tD.com, and 1500 at the cheap guy.

Cheap guy was +$150 over TD.com on the wife's Tahoe, I got Toyo ATII's, we got 70k out of the previous set of Toyo AT's.

Also, the P-metric tires are usually cheaper than LT tires, I run LT's on my truck, and P-mets on the wife's Tahoe.
