I was back and forth between a center console gator tail and a flats boat. During duck season, I kind of regretted not getting the gator tail. But I'm much more of a fisherman, and a flat bottom mud motor boat doesn't compare to fishing out of my boat. I probably float in less water, much quiter hull slap, 10x's the stability, and I can cross Lake Decade, Lake Boudreaux, etc. when a storm kicks up and not have a worry in the world. It's not comfortable for the guy sitting on the ice chest, but it's easy for me. Plust I bought a year old boat with a new four stroke rigged out for less than the center console gator tail.
