Putting out a new feeder. How long before deer get used to it and start feeding?

A couple days to a couple of weeks. What your deer population density? How long until one randomly walks by it and figures out there is corn there? That long.

Once one hits it, they come back and start bringing friends.

Start feeding on the ground for a week or so where the feeder will be. Then put the feeder up and they'll get used to it quick after they're eating the corn.

Terrible luck getting anything but stupid doe and yearlings to an electric feeder in the daylight. Sold mine years ago and just started hunting sign and man did my deer harvest odds pick up!

I have set out corn piles and they have been feeding on it. I set up a camera and several decent bucks. I just didn't know if it was too late in the season if it would spook them or if they would use it.

I always put out the feeders in the summer. I've put one out during the season and my deer vanished. Get them use to it for awhile. I would wait until next year, continue to put corn out by hand
