Very much appreciated. The LWRC was in 5.56 but I wanted something different and IMO, better. I built my FIL a DD a few months ago and could not stop admiring the build quality of it and knew that I was going to end up with one.
I love everything that I have seen and heard about the 300BLK so far. I was supposed to go last weekend to put some lead down range but had some issues come up. I will be at the range this weekend to put a few hundred down the pipe. I wanted to get a SBR really bad, especially since it is 100% efficient at 12" of barrel. However, I live in LA and hunt in MS. I am not going through the hassle of notifying the ATF every other weekend. No such issues with a 16" barrel and a suppressor.
I looked at the Noveske but honestly could not justify it. Maybe a Noveske barrel but not a complete upper. Again, thats just my opinion.
I love how light the Leopuld VX-R is. I have a set of Magpul BUIS (going for light weight) that will fit nicely under the VX-R. The VX-R will be mounted on a Larue QD 103 which should keep everything aligned. I dont believe there should be any problems running this setup, just wanted to know if you knew of any better options. Other than SB, of course.
Please do pass on any advice you get on the 300BLK. It will be my first round that I reload and I have gotten all of my information off the net so far but any firsthand experience would be nice.
Thank you again. Any further suggestions/advice is appreciated.
PS, If you are serious about building one in the future, you may want to start buying ammo now. I am trying to buy all that I can and I am already having problems.
ETA: What do you know about cans? I am looking at a YHM, SDN 7.62, and Cyclone.
