Dieseltiger and I went in on an old pontoon boat with intentions of cleaning it up and using it on the lake near our house. We have replaced the carpet along with removing all the railings. We have removed the existing paint on the railings and sanded it down to bare metal. The area we want to have painted black is about 50 linear feet and 18 inches high. We aren't picky about the shade of black and want to have it done as cheap as possible. We have called a couple car shops that won't entertain the idea. The entire boat will not be brought to the place of business, just the railings on a trailer.

any recomendations between NOLA/BR/NORTHSHORE ?

The next option is to spray it myself with rattle cans, so you can probably tell that I'm not trying to go to extravagant with the paint job

The picture below is the same model. Basically the black/red "stripe" around it is what we want to have painted straight black

Something that flat I would just get a few gallons and roll it. You could knock out two coats very quickly, and have plenty of time to drink beer between the first and second coats.
