What kinda prices are we talking about with them? I'd also love to get on a good speck hunt this year if possible.

I don't know their current rates. You may have to find them on Facebook to get that. They got some great property this year that they kill a lot of Specks on but most Specks they shoot are killed on duck hunts. It's just a gamble setting up on a field just for Specks. About the only way you can practically guarantee Specks is on a mid-December Snow Goose hunt out of goose spread where the Specks are still dumb and the Snows are just getting into patterns. Another solid place to kill Specks (and Snows too) is down in Pierce, TX with Karankawa Plains Outfitters. They beat the geese up pretty good.

Man you're underestimating SWLA I killed specs on 75% of my hunts last year and geese period on 85% of my hunts. And I hunt what I consider to be marginal waterfowl land.

Not underestimating, I just really don't know many pure goose hunting operations over there outside of Doug's. I have hunted there numerous times and had a couple of good hunts and a couple of duds and one really bad hunt that pretty much ended me ever going back to Doug's.

Maybe you need to help a baw out and take the OP and his party.

Those two I mentioned on the first page slay em. OP needs to check out their Facebook, website, whatever. I think one posts on a local forum that rhymes with FaultyPagin

Grosse Savane if a nice lodge, meal and bar are a necessity. I haven't been fishing there but from people that have, the bass fishing is awesome

Id really like to do guided trips for people. But now that I'm working full time I won't be able to hunt near as much like I have in recent years

If you need someone to get out on your lease when you can't, you know to move the birds, I know somebody. :)

He retired. The family that actually owns the land that Bill used to hunt on runs the hunting operation now. They also kept most of Bill's guides. The outfit is now called Karankawa Plains Outfitters.

Ole Douglas Sonnier. He comes off as the nicest old man, but will stab you in the back with a dull knife for $2. There are tons of stories around of people leasing blinds and never getting any water because the pump doesn't work, levees don't hold, etc. If you ask him the same question five times, you will get 12 different answers.

I went on a bachelor's party with Goose guides inc. It was 20 of us.
The night before the hunt he came to introduce himself and tell us how we would hunt. He would put us in a horseshoe pattern with him and the other callers at the bottom of the U. The geese would come down the middle and we would all get to shoot. Sounded good.

The morning of the hunt was really foggy, couldn't see 50 feet in front of us. He brought us to all our layout blinds. The two straight runs of the U were about 100 yards away from each other and each person was about 50 feet apart. We ended up killing 20 but could have killed more. Some people could have shot geese that he couldn't see from his position. If it wasn't for the fog I think we would have killed a lot more. We definitely would have killed more if we were closer together.

Yea you're crazy if you think you can't kill specs in SWLA. The majority of the hunts I go in SWLA are goose only and I'd say we kill 75% of the time or more. Sounds like you just don't know what you're doing
