I also was working on this for a while. Ended up loosing interest and never finished it and sold it. About 2 months later I regretted getting rid of it.

1972 Yamaha XS650 hardtail, excuse the shitty pic.

Eventually it was going to look similar to this.

So far I have built an outdoor coffee table (will get pics), an "L" corner desk (now destroyed), a Bathroom Vanity (will get pics), a few walls and all the base boards in my current house.

The outside coffee table was my favorite.

Currently working on a lean too for the boat, and designing a box stand that can be broken down and moved. Also been commissioned to build a corner storage unit.

Also making cutting boards. Hope to try wooden spoons in the near future.

A lot of this stuff is awesome and makes we want to get into building things.
I have built a recurve bow out of pvc and fiberglass that's about the coolest things.

For the guys that build furniture.... did someone teach you or did you just start with building small things and work your way up? What are some essential tools I one would need for wood working? Thanks

Nice dining table! What wood did you use, and do you mind revealing your estimated cost?

Thanks man.

It's just cheap yellow pine 2x4's and 2x6's from home depot. Took me about 3 trips to pick out the straightest boards I could get.

Probably $100 after staining.

ETA - About 2k cheaper than the table my wife was about to buy.

Exactly what I was hoping you'd say.

This is happening in 2015 for me.

The kids destroy our tables anyway, why not make one that looks this good instead of buying one for 3-10x the cost?

Kitchen in my duck blind I guess. Want to build a wooden tool box like the stand up roller ones you see at lowes/home depot with about 6 drawers.

I do two different sizes, the bigger ones that I posted the pics of are a 94quart Igloo Marine cooler. For the all wood ones they're $350 each. The ones with tin cost a little extra due to extra time it takes to get them done. The small ones use a 48quart Igloo chest and are $250 in all wood.

The build thread on my original one for my parents is in one of the pinned post up top. I've since modified the design a little to support the legs a little more. Pretty much every single one I've sold has been for a Father's Day or Christmas gift. The plans are in that link as well. They're not hard to build if you have the right tools.
