Thanks to the advice on this board is decided to try out the Tikka T3 in 300 wsm. I topped it with a Meopta Meopro 6-18x50 and put the Limbsaver recoil pad on it. Mounted scope and bore sighted it today. Will dial it in tomorrow. Took the gun outside at dusk and the clarity and light transmission of the Meopta is as advertised. Can't wait to shoot it tomorrow.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the total price? I'm working up a power point to present to the wife.

I was a die hard 700 and weatherby fan, refused the tikka hype.

Now I honestly believe these are the best option for the price for the non tinkerer.

Out of the box, off bags, with shots touching at 100, wow.

How did it shoot??

my advice : save your brass in case you decide to reload or have a friend reload for you

Great combo. Shot my tikka 7mm mag with same scope on Friday. Love the way it shoots and the scope is so bright. My previous was a Nikon buckmaster and they are night and day different

I shoot the same rifle and never have a prob tracking a deer. It demolishes them. If they run the trail of blood looks like a small river and they rarely make it further than 20 yards.

Shot great. Several of the guys with me are shopping for one now. Recoil wasn't even that bad with the Limbsaver on it. Definitely won't be the last Tikka or Meopta I buy.

How is the light transmission around first and last light?

I got a great deal on a vx3 4.5-14x40 last year at academy but I'm pretty underwhelmed at first and last light after hunting with it all season. Maybe I had unrealistic expectations considering the objective size.

Keep your scope magnification low during first and last light if you aren't already, it makes a world of difference.

I keep it at the lowest setting during those times. You are right, it helps a ton.

Picked up a used t3 stainless in 7mm-08 with camo stock. Have meopta meopro 3.5x10 on order. Should make for a nice backup gun and also great for when my daughter comes hunting

I agree with everyone about keeping it on low power during low light situations but I am very impressed with my Meopro. It definitely draws in a lot of light.
