Correct, the dope on these with a fast twist an good hand loads is much better than any 30 cal. We're pushing 4.2 mills at 1000 meters.

If the UTG is a decent Harris knock off, let me know when you get ready to get rid of it; I could use another bipod for my upcoming prairie dog hunts.

I'm in the same boat as you texastiger. I just got a 308 Tikka compact tactical and I am working on it right now. Just trying to find the right chassis system and waiting 2 more months for my saker.
