Mulch or Bag?

What's the consensus of the OB?
I've been using a mulching kit for the last year and feel pretty "meh" about it. Anyone out there gotten good results mulching? Tips appreciated.

I bag close to my concrete areas like walks and back patio and mulch everywhere else.

depends on the time of the year and volume of the mulch IMO

My Toro hates to bag if I let my St. Aug get too high. I really need something better.

I personally bag everything. For one, I hate walking through the grass and having clippings stick to my feet. Secondly, if you have any weeds, you are helping them to spread if you mulch. Also, with as hot and humid as it gets down here, I think fungus is more likely to take root with clippings on the lawn.
Other people swear by mulching though, and I am not a lawn expert. Try both and see what works for your situation.

I'm trying to convince my wife it will look good if I burn it all.

I see people fertilizing lawns and I just shake my head. Is there an anti-fertilizer?

My grass is too healthy and grows too fast as it is.

If I spend a lot of time in the yard it looks good, and nobody cares.
If I wait until after turkey season to crank my mower, mow every week or two, spray some round up while drinking beer, and let it look like rednecks live there, still nobody cares.

My wife cares about the front yard because that's what people see. I care about the back, because that's where I do stuff.

Mulch, unless I wait too long between cuttings; then I bag.

My wife steps on grass 3 minutes each week. I have begun to disregard anything she says about it.

Mulch.
If you do it long enough, you won't need to add fill to the yard.

I bag during the winter/fall just to pick up leaves. Mulch during the summer months.

I side discharge everything except for one backyard that I bag with the 21

Mulching kit on my zrt. I do battle fungus in my back yard. But I also have not been consistent enough with trying to treat it at times. Not sure if it's from the mulch. Thick areas in corners I run over more than once or use the leaf blower to spread it around.

Mine is wanting me to get some quotes for someone to do the front. I told her it takes less than 15 to cut the front, but she wants someone to keep the beds looking good and the sidewalk and driveway edged as well. And then just let me mow the back. I'm sort of leaning towards doing this as I can just mow the back a few times a month and be done with it. Nothing to edge back there and they can treat the front for me and get it back looking good. I really don't care about the back because that's where the kids play, where we set up a big slip n slide, and just hang out. Grass is grass.

I want to try to sell that to my wife. I hate edging, and I have a long sidewalk plus the front door walk. Long arse driveway as well.

I used to alternate edging and hedge trimming. I rarely did both as well as cut the grass. Then I took a chainsaw to all my shrubs out front and she planted some flowers and other annuals there. So I really don't have an excuse not to edge, I just don't like doing it every time. I edge the 50 feet at the road, both sides of the sidewalk which runs from the driveway over to the front, about 30 feet each side, and the entire 40 feet of driveway. She's more concerned about the beds but I can get straw and put down a few times a summer. I just need to get something to border them to keep the grass from spreading into there. Part of me thinks the one time job of setting it all up would make maintenance easier, and the other just says write a check and be done with it.
