Always loved mulberries, but never had a cobbler made of one before. Fantastic! Any of you not using your mulberries are really missing a treat.

Just saying....

thats funny, at this very moment I am online choosing what cobbler recipe to make with the mulberries in the fridge. Gonna run to da store and grab some vanilla ice cream in a minute.

And I agree, mulberries are wayyyy underrated. My favorite "wild" berry in the south.

We have three trees on our family land that make them by the thousands. Only thing is you have to stay out there for two days straight with a shotgun to keep the birds out if you actually want any ripe ones to pick!

I have seen mulberries around all my life and believe it or not, never had a cobbler made with them...I'll have to give them a try sometime...

I did a "dump cake/cobbler" (lined pan w berries -5cups-, 3/4 cup sugar, dumped a box of lemon cake mix on top, cut up a cold bar of butter & placed the pieces on top, sprinkled a little brown sugar on top of that). It was excellent, the lemon cake mix really elevated the taste. I thought I had only 2 mullberry trees on the property but the other day I noticed I have another one on the levee; too bad it's caught up in a bunch of over growth, including poison ivy but then again, I'm so scared of snakes I wouldn't have gone in after those berries anyway.
