I am wanting to add on to my patio and I need to have my AC unit moved from it current location. How much should this cost to move and set it up again? My house is brick and the unit is a 4 ton I believe.

TIA

How tough is it going to be to re-plumb to the attic unit and your electrical panel?

Not sure, the attic spans the entire house so it would be about the same distance as it is now. As far as the electrical I am not sure

$500-$800 dependent upon the copper run. If the tech is good enough and the new run is equal distance as you say then you are looking closer to the $500 mark. If he's worth his salt he can move your electrical disconnect and whip as well if it is the same length.

First off, how far you wanting to move it?

More outside tubing can be added, but to do that, you will break the seal. A vacuum pump, Freon and new filters will be needed.

Going to be needed no matter how far he moves the condensing unit...If it's done right.

from where it sits now I would be moving 15'-20' maybe. Would that be too far to move the lines?

75' is the max to run the lines from outside unit to inside unit.

No it shouldn't be. What's the total length of the line set from condensing unit to air handler?

Not necessarily. Dependent upon manufacturer and capacity.

Yes true, but BR City will only allow 75'.
Guess I was assuming this was being done local to me.

I am not sure. I'll have somebody come and give me a quote on it. Sounds like there are to many variables to look at. thanks for the responses
