Yep most of the guys in Northern Gulf that swordfish are all out of Venice. That's where all the swords get weighed when they hit the dock. So naturally Louisiana record sword is much larger. Daytime sword fishing (outside of S. Fla) is a pretty new thing revolutionized by Peace and then adopted by other Venice guides.

That and where guides are located. Thats why the big swords always come into Destin, Orange Beach, and Venice. Mississippi just doesnt have many overnight trips.

Florida: 612! (south Florida though)
Alabama: 450
Louisiana: 310

JJ Tabor headed to scales with 108" Marlin on board. Breathe Easy has 110" headed to scales.
