Not been to GI in a while. Lost my one and only Mirrodine. I am going back this weekend. I don't really want to buy a box full since I fish down there so seldom. What's the best size/color if I am just going to grab a few? Does it even matter?

They're $6. You are driving all the way to Grand Isle and worried about saving $6? Get a half dozen.

But to be serious, the 3" with the green back is a fish catchin sumbitch.

Yes. Depression era parents. Some things can't be undone.

Maybe, but Academy will take them back with teeth marks on them if you keep the box and the receipt.

Our Acad doesn't carry them, so this will be a quick stop at one on the way down. Laffy probably.

Laffy Acad way out of the way on Johnston. Hit WalMarks in Golden Meadow on the bypass.

Probably not. A trip with 3 couples and kids. Not even sure how much fishing I'll do.

Alx, I have bought Mirrodines at the Alexandria Academy before. They don't have the largest selection but I got some of the original navy backs the last time I went.

I walked erry aisle just now. If they have some, they are hidden pretty well. They have added a bunch of Gulp and that is new for our store.

I save no no-action having mother-scratchers for when I am specifically targeting reds/flounder.

Trout is about all we caught in Texas on that setup.

Just brought my saltwater box from La to NorCal. Gonna see if that setup catches some stripers.

The Walmart in Galiano should have them. I would check there first. It's on the way and would be the cheapest.

If they don't have the color then check at Griffins marina in Leeville. You have to pass up the toll bridge without going over it and it will be on the left.

By far the best color for Grand Isle beach fishing is the one with a pink back and chartreuse belly. Pearl sides.

Those are the best colors for fishing stained water which is usually what you have on the beaches.

Now if the water clarity improves then a more natural color would be preferred.
