I found a Minox ZA3 3-9x50mm for $300. I was looking at the Leupold VX-ii 3-9x50mm but my buddy is preaching that Minox is a better scope. I'm having trouble deciding. Have any of you had any experiences with Minox before?

I bought a Minox ZA3 from Optics Planet 2 years ago.
I researched scopes for a loong time before I bought it, and so far I am very pleased with the purchase.
Great eye relief, crystal clear lens, rubberized zoom adjustment which I really like.
FWIW I have it mounted on a Tikka T3 Lite .270wsm.

VERY good low light quality and I only have the x40, I would assume it would be even better with the x50.
Not sure what your budget is, but if you are looking for an extremely good light gathering scope, check out the Meopta Meostar. My budget didnt allow it, but for what I do the Minox is more than fine.
German designed, made in USA.
