Was told that there was a colony of Mennonites in DeQuincy that grow beans and frequently let people hunt the doves in their field.

Is anybody else familiar with this?

Don't know about the Mennonites in DeQuincy, but the ones in Lake Providence ran a damn fine bakery til it burned down a few years back.

I don't think many of the OB crew would be invited back after a hunt with the Mennonites for some reason.

I've always described a Mennonite to people that don't know them as between the Amish an a Pentecostal.

A souped up Pentecostal if you will.

Wildlife and fisheries usually has some private fields for opening day in SW Louisiana. The normally don't announce when and where till a couple of days before the opener...

Dr Tyger what city do you practice in? I have a buddy has a camp that that has a nice dove field & depending on your specialty I can get you an invite for you.

I know they have some catfish ponds, and you can go catch as much as you want. You have to pay for em by the pound, though.

I've never heard about the dove hunting. I pass right by em everytime I go to our camp at Toledo from LC, and there are big fields around them.
