I realize that this is the outdoor board, but I figure this crowd would know best.

So first off, I'm an idiot when it comes to being mechanically inclined. I borrowed a neighbor's snapper mower to cut my grass. Cut fine. I of course wanted to fill it with gas before returning. It was pouring down rain and I was distracted,
and accidentally put the gas in the oil intake. Not knowing, I tried to crank it up. Of course it did not start. Scratching my head trying to figure out why, it hit me.

How hard is this to fix? Please tell me I didn't ruin his mower.

TIA. And yes, I realize how stupid this was.

It's fine. Drain oil. Put fresh oil in and gas where it needs to go.

Drain it, refill it with proper oil, run it for a bit, drain and refill with new oil.

Those snappers will sometimes create a siphon on their own from the gas tank to engine flooding the cylinder and into the oil pan with gasoline. I used to have on and it did it a dozen times.

Always close the gas valve on the fuel line when you are finished.
