The 20 is regularly $299.99. It's currently $199.99
The 30 is regularly $349.99. It's currently $249.99

I snagged a 30 on Saturday and am currently doing some field testing. I'm planning a fishing trip later this year and am looking to actually use it as my carry-on. From what I understand I think I can pull this off. Which will allow me to bring fish back home in it on my return flight.

At the end of the day I know that there are far less expensive options, but from what I've gathered, the Dry-Lok dealio is the only sure-fire method I know of to make sure if there's any ice-melting (insert YETI pre-cooled/sticker jokes here) it won't leak.

I honestly don't like mine very much, and it's all because of the top which they have now redesigned, twice.

In related news Rodeo Houston must have bought too many and overstocked on RTIC soft coolers as they are running a pretty good special on them right now. Soft side 30s (normally $125, are $65 or two for $100. Shipping is $5 anywhere).

RTIC deal

That is actually a great deal. But from what I've seen on YouTube and some other reviews, while they are comparable from a "keep it cold," perspective, leaking is a near certainty.

I need to keep stuff cold for a max of four-six hours. So for the most part, the technology isn't as important to me as whether or not the stuff's gonna leak while I'm on an international flight.

RTIC doesn't seem to be an option for me in this department.

I saw some versions in Academy now have a top that reminds me of a Zip-Loc Bag. The one I purchased has an oval shaped top that is flat with a zipper running across the length for the opening. The Zip-Loc Bag versions have a zipper along what you would consider the "front," of the bag itself. Definitely not a fan of that design.

I hear this a lot, but I actually like the non-square top. Makes it much easier to carry when walking. I really wish someone would make a similarly designed one for less than 200 bucks, but everyone seems content with the square top design and even yeti is now changing course.

That's the newest one. Mine is slowly breaking in and getting ice/fish in it is getting somewhat better.

I'm at work and can't link YouTube, but almost every RTIC review I saw online where they were placed on their side full of ice, as soon as there's liquid (which when we're talking about ice and soft-packs, there's just going to be melting period which means they're will be liquid) they began discharging in small amounts. Which gradually increased.

I'm also worried about the build quality of the remaining stuff.

Just my personal preference. I'm positive I overpaid so I already understand that.

I used my Hopper last week as a seat back because I forgot my Yak seat. That thing is air tight, even with me leaning back on it hard.

It's not just Academy. I've seen several places have them $100 off recently. Gander Mt, Dicks and a few other places

This isn't sale prices.

They are now dropping retail pricing on hopper ones because they are introducing the hopper twos.
