Management doe hunt...

I am looking to make a meat hunt before the season is over. Does anyone know of an outfitter who does management doe hunts? I would consider a management / cull buck + 1 or 2 does if the price was reasonable. Obviously if anyone has a place with too many does, I'd be happy to come shoot one!

I recommend going to The guide page on TexasHuntingForms and make a post with what you are looking for and let the guide send you offers

Be very cautious on that forum with who offers you a hunt. Check their post history and google their name. Plenty of bad reviews or stories on there of people getting screwed.

I see does every hunt... lots of them. I'd offer you to come hunt but every time I go to the stand saying "I think I'll shoot a doe today" I see 10 bucks and ZERO does...
It's like they know.

I've got no problem with shooting a buck either...

What's your budget? We're way behind on our doe killing. Need 10-15 knocked out toward the end of the year.
Would prefer to host a small group of 4-6 guys. I'm not really interested in dealing with 1-2 hunters to be honest.

If you can make the numbers work with No Colors, it is a no-brainer, go there. I will vouch for his place and him...

are you a guide?
No. My family has 2400 acres in Port Gibson. We don't deer hunt as much as we used to. (kids, college, marriages, life, Obama, etc). We used to kill 40-50 does and 40-50 hogs a year, on top of our buck kill. This year we've killed something like 8 does and 3 hogs.
I want to do an improvement to our camp. Basically install an outdoor kitchen. So I was thinking about selling some deer and hog hunts to raise $10,000 - $15,000 or so to put towards that project.
My father spends Jan 1 - May 15th at his home in S Florida. So the idea is to get the project done for him as a surprise when he gets back in town.
A buddy of mine in the metal roofing business who hunts with us is gonna donate the metal roof and trusses. I have a sawmill that is gonna custom cut the decking and all the lumber. But I still need to raise some money for labor and appliances, etc.
So, that's what I am thinking.

I'd be interested in a doe/hog hunt if we could get enough guys from the OB to go.

From the standpoint of accommodations, space to hunt on different winds, etc the perfect number is 6. I would do it for 5.
Friday afternoon to Sunday noon for $1000 per hunter. Unlimited Does and Hogs. All lodging and meals by me. You can clean your own animals in the barn. Or I have a guy who will come do it for $20 (highly recommended).
You have a good chance of seeing a trophy buck. You are welcome to hammer the buck of your choice for $1000 extra.

Ever been to Port Gibson?
Not trying to be sarcastic, but, Yes.
We killed 50 a year for year after year. Basically had no effect on the number of deer we saw or the quality of bucks we killed. So we got tired of it and basically quit shooting does. Unless someone needed one for meat.
We all prefer to eat the hogs over the deer. So that has cut down on our doe shooting too. Also, my sister has 3 boys who are now in their late teens (15-19). When they were 10-14 they were killing 6-8 does apiece each year. Now, they kill one or two with their bow. And other than that they want to hunt trophy bucks.

No Colors got a question for you, you guys have guided hunts in port Gibson, looking for somewhere next year to take my son, kill good buck, me just tag along with a camera and shoot some hogs. What kinda cost?

I appreciate the offer. But that's not really what I am trying to accomplish. I have donated a bunch of hunts to charity. And Wounded Warriors, etc. I have probably had 20-30 kids kill their first deer on the place. Maybe more than that.
But for this situation I am just trying to raise enough money to install this outdoor deck, fireplace, and kitchen as a surprise for my father. I don't really run a guide service. I am just gonna try to sell two weekends in January for a group of guys to kill some deer/hogs and have a good time.
