A couple of questions...

1.) Can you fish out of a flat boat with a trolling motor in the lakes?

2.) Do they catch quality bass in the lakes?

TIA

It was spawning on shad. I think Neck had the lake record before that fish. 9 something.

And that fish could probably eat the biggest fish in there now.

You can not use any kind of powered propulsion in the lakes.

There’s bass to be caught and fantastic eye candy running around. I wouldn’t eat them though.

ETA: don’t eat the fish I mean

Caught it on a pumpkin seed brush hog while sipping a tall boy keystone.

He's a white can baw, and almost always used a black spinner bait. I'm sure he will be around in a bit. Pretty sure he still has the mount in his apt.

Is this regulated? Will they really say something about an electric trolling motor?

Idk anybody who’s tried it but most campus cops are dicks so I’d expect some harassment. Idk if they can arrest you for it or anything, probably only ask you to leave.

This is kind of unclear. The regs make an exception for trolling motors on City Park Lake but don't say the same for University Lake. You could probably call LDWF's BR office and get it clarified.

I'm seeing conflicting info... the BREC site says "Bank Fishing Only"

quote:

There is a 50-acre lake at this park. No motorized boats are allowed. Bank fishing only. The State of Louisiana requires a fishing license. Wildlife and Fisheries agents will periodically inspect licenses.

All of the lakes have different rules. I believe the one across Dalrymple that the bucket brigade likes so much is actually private except for the road frontage.

Didn't read closely that it says the 50 acre lake, it's definitely worth calling LDWF to get a straight answer. They are the ones likely to be enforcing it while checking licenses.

Actually that one was caught on a black/blue tail mister twister worm. Black spinner bait would catch them though. And, yes , I still have the mount. Sorry, was at the doctor this morning...........
