Are they completely different breeds? The one's in Florida seem much more aggressive.

I am guessing they come into close proximity with people more often.

Plus, with this being a tourist area, you probably have idiots feeding them. You feed a gator, they begin to associate people with food and then become a nuisance.

Feeding wildlife is bad. DON'T FEED THE WILDLIFE.

Not sure about the gators but people from Florida seem to be a different breed entirely

Shouldn't those Disney alligators have a tick tock clock in their belly?

Need to ban them.

And they're ornery 'cause they have all those teeth and no toothbrush....

Probably the same woman who asked "why we would put deer crossing signs in populated areas"?

American Alligator ranges from NC to TX. It's the state reptile of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida.

Most of the Florida gators are out 365 days of the year, not so in LA. That brings up the odds of something happening, considerably.

Speaking of, what do they do during periods of high water in the cold of winter?

Lay really still in the mud until an unsuspecting deer hunter is slipping back to his truck from his deer stand in 10" of water and steps on the alligator, causing it to move just enough for the hunter to release that turd into his pants he was trying to save until he got out to the canal bank. At least that's what I heard from somebody.

Yeah. Like turtles. They have a way of expelling lactic acid from their bodies that keeps them from poisoning themselves. Can't remember exactly how, but something like that. I remember telling a professor he was full of shite, then he asked me how I figured there were turtles in lakes in Minnesota, Wisconsin, etc. where they froze over for 60 days in the winter, then on the 4th of July there are grown turtles sitting on logs in the lakes.

Boudreaux- "Dat gator went "ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH", and I shite my pants."

Thibodeaux- "I woulda shite my pants too..."

Boudreaux- "No Thibodeaux, just then when I was telling the story."

Unless you are 150 yards away and a deer is peacefully eating at a feeder...

I know some turtles are able to perform gas exchange through their cloacas, so they can breathe through their buttholes.
