Great guy, former Marine, that is in our shooting club and who used to work for our company.
Was on his last run of the night/morning before heading out to fish with his son. Since his route went right by the house he had picked his son up to ride with him on his last run, since he loved riding with his Pop in the big rig.
Dumbass bitch getting onto I-26 gets to the end of the entrance ramp onto the Interstate and frickin STOPS.
SUV behind her had nowhere to go and slams into the back of her vehicle knocking her out into the interstate, covering both of the lanes.
John was coming down the interstate, had nowhere to go and tried to swerve to miss her. Rig jacknifed, almost instantly rolled over shearing the safety valves on the fuel tanks. Sparks from the trailer set off his load, 10,000 gallons of gas and diesel that he was carrying. Just hope and pray neither him nor his boy felt anything.

RIP John and James
Semper Fi brother

Sorry to hear about your loss of a good buddy and his son. Life ends too quickly for some of the finest we know.

Damn, that's terrible.

All jokes aside... Wasn't there a Johnny Paycheck song like this?

For the life of me, I will never understand these peoples' understanding of "safety" that they use. It is an acceleration lane! Accelerate! Stopping is the worst thing you could do. Or, for that matter, slowly accelerating causing people established in the lane to slow down or slam on their brakes for you. Differential in speed is the biggest cause of accidents on the interstate.

I am so sorry for your lose.

Sounds like the guy behind her was following too close as well.

A horrific way to go. Just have to mercifully hope they were both gone before the flames got to them.

We're thinking they never knew. Witnesses said the rig exploded just seconds after rolling over before it even stopped.

Shock wave from the explosion probably did it long before fire had a chance. Probably never knew what hit them. Or so I hope.

Registered on seismigraphs over 5 miles away is what we're hearing.

You should have to pass a yearly IQ test to get behind the wheel of an automobile. Dumb shite like this happens everyday, and innocent people pay with their lives.

Rest in peace, gentlemen.
