Wow!

Good thing I didn't purchase the 35 yet

Isn't it obvious that the 35 (left) is primitive compared to the 30-06

It definitely wasnt anything primitive about the weapons being used nowadays.

The measure is supported by Cliff Covington, president-elect of the Mississippi Wildlife Federation.

The only people using old, true muzzleloaders anymore were people who hunted (wildlife management areas) that required those type of weapons," he said. "Everyone else is using these .45-70s and .35 Whelens that are just as accurate -- probably more so -- as any type of high-powered rifle."

Ceratinly a guy who has never screwed with a 45-70 Handi Rifle.

Raise your hand if you know how finicky the damn things are!

I couldn't agree more. I use a 4570 and can reload very quickly if needed. Hell I use my 4570 in the regular season cuz it's short and compact - great for ladder stands.

One dude was bitching about the length of the season being almost 1/2 year. He said Miss. needs to do like the northern states and have a short season so hunters will kill more deer.

Meh, I see his logic. Think there are a lot more deer up north though.

I dont even deer hunt, much less in Miss, but two of those bastards tried to kill me on the interstate last year, so I'm all for whatever it takes to kill more of those things

What an idiot. He don't know a damn thing about deer if he thinks that's why they have shorter seasons.

I would be some kind of pissed if La bans single shots. Look at the money that's wasted on buying these rifles just to ban them 5 yrs later. I bet they get together and run his arse out of the state.

Explain....My 45/70 shoots great. I was very impressed and have had no problems. Not saying it shoots as well as my 300 but I havent had any problems out of it.
