Promised a little boy a turkey or a couple guineas for a Christmas present. Anyone know of anyone between Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lafayette with any for sale?

Thanks

I talked to her. She's nuts.

Should have added to OP that I've exhausted Craigslist, Louisiana Sportsman, local papers, and facebook groups I'm aware of.

There was a guy in Eunice that had some. I will be passing by where the sign was and call him to see if he still does.

I sometimes go to a farm auction that has some but you never know from one weekend to the next if they will.

I'm guessing you want some chicks and not full-growns?

Damon. What part of the world you in? I've seen a few for sale over time around Ascension. I'll see if I see s sign out by there place next time I pass.

Did you try backyard chickens forum? Or an ad on CL? If you want to subject yourself to th hat?

Yep, that's the problem. Lot's of folks have grown ones, but this is for a kid who would benefit from raising them from chicks.

Thanks.

You could try efowl.com or mcmurray hatchery online. We ordered day old chicks from them, they ship overnight and all arrived well. I know they offered about any kind of fowl/poulty you could think of.

I will get back with you tomorrow. Dairy farmer friend of mine may have both available. In Ponchatoula.

ETA: Ernst doesn't have any at the moment.

Sounds like Ernst Dairy is getting in the Turkey business. You are supposed to eat the turkey eggs

This is probably going to be your best bet at the moment for chicks. Also, these will be vaccinated against any disease and will probably have the best chance at life. Just order and sell the rest, it's a little crazy how easy it is to sell guineas.

Guy's number is 459- 4265. His sign saying he had guineas for sale is no longer down but it was a makeshift type of sign so he still may have some though I doubt it, at this time of the year.

Man you are alright, I don't care what those boys in Ville Platte say about you.

Ended up getting him some mallards.

I'd much prefer those ducks- even as an adult.

Seriously though, they're much prettier to look at.

Sorry I didn't get back earlier. I didn't go out that way like I'd planned to last week.
