It's been mentioned here in the past. Guy from Louisiana had an insane rebuild of an older mako boat. Think the main thread was on classicmako site. Can anyone point me to it? I've been searching but can't find the right one.

Thanks

That's a good one but the one CP3 is talking about was a dentist from Slidell. Dude really went all out. I'm on mobile so can't do a decent search.

No. This one was wayyy more detailed. I want to say upwards of 50 pages.

That's all I can remember though. It was one of the best rebuilds I've seen

I read the whole thing a while back. That guy put a ton of work into that boat.

Wow, I'm a few pages in and I can't even fathom the know-how and man hours that went into this. Guy had a couple real good buddies to help him do a bunch of it, definitely helps to know someone with a CNC.

Had an '88 Mako 231 a few years ago and it was a tank. Miss that boat, would be cool to have another one someday.

Can't get the skills unless you jump into it and have to figure it out... I
Love me a good project, especially if you have a cover to work under, it makes good use of rainy days

WOW! That is definitely the right way to do a rebuild. Although I want to do a late 80's early 80's Mako. Pre tracker. Those are tanks!

That is a very good read. I'm going to save it for my long flight coming up.

Yes. I post here. Thanks for the compliments. The CNC has been pretty fun. I've been making some small parts for guys on classicmako lately.

The link on ClassicMako.com may be a little more complete than what's on THT.

Mako 261 project

By far the cleanest rebuilt boat I've seen. I would love to get a 80s mako and bring it back to life. I kinda thought you were a poster here as well
