Last two I bought have kicked the bucket unexpectedly. Seems I get shitty results from mine. One kept filing up with water and would corrode the batteries. The other just quit working after a few months.

Which brands should I avoid?
Which brand is the most reputable?

They're all a crapshoot until you get to the $250+ american made ones. It's all the same cheap chinese components. You'll get recommendations for every brand with "mine has worked for 6 years". I've owned moultrie, stealthcam, wildgame, and primos, all have crapped out at random times. It's all luck of the draw if ole Chang was hungover when he was soldering. Best plan is to buy from a place like academy with a no questions asked return/replace policy until you find one that works.

I've found you have to get into the 250 range as well.

Stealth Cam, high end Brownings, etc.

I like Primos cameras a lot. I'm not familiar with this model, but Dick's has a decent sale on the following camera

Primos Proof Cam for $60 with $30 rebate and free shipping. Regularly $100

I just picked up 2 Primos Proof 01 game cameras recently. Good reviews and hard to beat for the price. Dick's has a great deal on them right now

LINK

Only been using them a few weeks but I like them. Very easy to operate.

I have Moultrie cameras that have stayed out year round for 5 years and work fine. Best bang for the buck IMO

Not sure of their quality now

Moultrie A-5 on Ebay for $50

May not be the best camera out there, but not bad for $50

Bought a Browning Strike Force last December to try it out. Put batteries in it and set it facing my driveway as a "security camera". It took approx. 3000 pictures (wife and I leaving and returning throughout the day, as well as a few deer). Got another 1000 on so on it this season in the woods. Still going on first set of batteries, and it says it's still got 27% battery life left. Good pictures, too. Im sold on it.

I'm on year 3 with my cheap Wildgame Innovations. When they break I'll buy another.

As soon as it starts warming up, take them out of the woods. It's the humidity that kills them.
