I was washing my truck and bent down to clean my rim and this little baw crawled out from under my truck. It actually scared me when I bent down and just caught movement out the corner of my eye. I picked him up and he would give me a soft nibble at first, but quickly calmed down and relaxed on my arm. I looked around and seen no signs of others or the mom so I turned it over to a lady who raises them and eventually turns them lose.

Is that a flying squirrel or just a regular squirrel?

Just a regular old nuisance cat squirrel. I grew up hunting them behind my parents house always, but hell theres more in my parents front yard then the woods in the back now.

My brother raised one a while back and let it go.
Damn thing was cool as hell. When he'd open the cage it'd run up his leg and get in his pocket and ride around in it.
Used to feed him mixed nuts. Little bastard would get inside the bag, eat all the cashews, and throw everything else out on the floor.

I'd have given you good money for that. Been wanting one for a while.

First you make a roux....
In all seriousness, I would have kept him and named him puddles

I found one in our garage one day. Little dude would charge me when I got close. I thought he was big enough to climb a tree so I let him go outside next to a tree. He just sat there and ran into the middle of our driveway and would not move. There are a lot of cats next door so I picked him up and brought him inside. I gave him water and fed him crushed pecans for two days. Then I dropped him off at wildlife rescue. Lady said he is about 1-3 months from being able to be on his own. She put him in a cage with 4 little squirrels smaller than him. I was sad to see him go. Maybe I should have cared for him instead of dropping him off.

Baby squirrels seem real cool to keep until you have to rub their balks to make them pee and poop

But on a serious note my uncle had a pet squirrel when I was a kid and it was awesome. It would crawl all over you and sit on your shoulder, he would leave a window cracked in his house and the squirrel would come and go as he pleased but he was always back by dark.

Friend of mine raised a squirrel one time...it was cool to have, but it really fricked up the inside of his house pretty quickly. One day he let it out and it brought back an assload of fleas!
