looks more like a southern watersnake.
A hognose would have a more prounounced hooked nose.
I haven't seen a hognose in YEARS, unfortunately

if you're worried about those, better watch out for dangerous turtles and lizards too. or those mean red-face ducks that hang around the LSU lakes! they might hurt your widdle finger if you get too close.
