Did my truck today. Read the mileage I wrote on the old filter and found out it's been 14k since I changed it last (non-syn). When I first got the truck I changed it every 3k like clockwork. Its gotten old and I don't care as much but thought it may of been like 8k at worst. Little bit ashamed right now.

And yes, I've reported myself to the Man Card Asso and have self-imposed a one year probation. Hopefully they won't take further action.

My wife went 17,000 miles before her last oil change. I casually asked her the last time her car was serviced and learned that it was fricking forever. Car runs fine for now

Went 11k on my Silverado. 0% on the digital read out. My wife actually pointed it out to me.

I change mine every 5000-6500 miles. I used to drive off road all day, every day, and I don't have a light foot at all

My VW TDI is waiting to be bought back by VW due to the emissions cheat. I have 25k+ miles on this oil change since the summer. I check the level one a month and keep driving...

Had a Nissan Titan for 12 years that I changed oil(syn) once a year, usually 12-16k per interval.

Man, I have a an old Chevy 1 ton flatbed, I KNOW it hasn't had oil changed in it,in at least 70,000 miles. It keeps on ticking though.gets used by somebody almost every day. I have a new motor to go in it when it finally quits, but it refuses to die!As a matter of fact,it runs like a top,and the spark plugs are just as old as the oil.It did get new wires and cap about 5 years ago.
I have come to think that oil lasts a lot longer than we are led to believe.

I have an Explorer that's going on 10 years since it's last oil change. It's almost all offroad and trailered when it gets driven though.

That flatbed gets treated like shite,at least 5 different people use it all the time for errands and picking up parts, pipe, lumber and stuff.
My friend uses it quite a bit to pull a goose neck cattle trailer.

This thread is making me feel better about not changing mine in a few years. But I don't drive it much so I'm only 8-9K since my last change.

Yeah I have to believe an oil company executive came up with the 3K mile ratio back however many years ago.

We have an old truck out on our farm that hasn't had the oil changed since Bush was in office. It's had at least 40,000 miles put on it while towing, hauling, and running around off road. At this point we don't want to change it just to see how long it will go
