I joined a hunting club last season out in the spillway (I live in bayou sorrell) and always drove through a slu (sp) to get to my stand. This year the water is too low for that at this point and I'm going to take a fourwheeler to get there.

My questions is how those of you with bigger bikes load them up. I have a Brute 650 with 30" silverbacks. I'm thinking of just getting some smaller tires as my bike has hardly been moved the last 12 months but any suggestions on loading it in a boat and moving it out to the woods other than the obvious? Thanks guys.

Be VERY careful doing that. I know a guy that took a 4 wheeler into the marsh and the heat from the engine caught the piefin on fire

The hunting area is hardwoods, it's just only accessible by water.

For future knowledge, it's slough.

Oh ok. That's a lot better.

What kind of boat are you working with? Mudboat, godevil, outboard?

Can be very tricky.

Honestly, with a 650, I wouldn't even recommend it unles you have a friggin party barge, which you probably would have in a slough since you're using a mini truck to get around. A Honda rancher will do ANYthing you need it to in the woods.
Don't kill yourself. Or lose your bike.

Get one of these. We had one and that bitch was damn near unstoppable.

That is why I am renewing my insurance right now lol

I didn't plan on taking this one in the woods but my dad has the smaller 400 and I know he isn't going to want me leaving his out in the woods. If I want to hunt it's really my only option.

We have one right now. My dad is unsure if he wants to keep it or sell it.

My grandpa had a big 8 wheeler with tracks back when we hunted Des Allmends. we mashed runs with it that you could see in satellite pics

Outboard...got an idea to maybe use my cousin's bass boat and see if it will fit on the front deck. It's an older boat so it's pretty wide. Gotta do some measuring.

Would love one, but the problem is getting anything out there. Really I need a smaller bike but that's not an option.

This is one of those things that you're going look back and say "that was alot harder than I thought it was going to be".

That is what we used ours for when we had the marsh lease in Gheens. Worked great for that. It only had problems climbing from the water up a hard bank but nothing a slight push wouldn't fix. That thing would cross a floatonn with ease.

We just towed ours behind the boat to get it out there. Go slow and leave 1 person in the buggie to stabilize it

We had a 55gal barrel set up like a trailer ( similar to a roller they use in the cane fields) and we filled it with water. Then pulled it up and down the runs

A carolina skiff with no front deck and a surface drive would be the ideal setup to transport a four wheeler.
