Every year before the season starts i end up buying new gear . Sometimes its a good purchase others, not so much. Last year i bought a summit climber (which i love) and some stupid cell phone mount for my bow to film hunts (turned out to be a piece of crap). SO far i havnt purcahsed anything this year, although at the end of last season i got a little buddy heater. excited to try that out this year. What are some cool new gear that you plan on trying out this year?

If you are deer hunting, spend the money on a handheld camcorder instead. You will be very disappointed with GoPro video at distances past 10 yards

Camo corn for wmas. I think the yellow corn I been using spooks them

Also investing in some new blue jeans, red plaid shirts, and taking up smoking. That's how peepaw did it

ill second that. Go pro isnt very good for filming hunts. tried using it for duck hunting in the past and it makes the ducks look farther away then they actually are because of the wide lens.

Muddy Stalker has my eye. I have a few climbers but most are old and heavy, have been on the lookout for one that's light enough to pack in but isn't a hand climber. Supposedly only weighs 15lbs, fits together well, and gets good reviews. Pretty close to pulling the trigger.

If you are worried about your scent and want to go a way cheaper route, get a couple bottles of Nose Jammer. Stuff is legit and I won't ever bow hunt without it again.

A new pair of hip boots. Did we ever decide a better boot than Lacrosse? My second pair ripped this morning. Chinese shite.

Oh, and for you corn pilers i'm buying a pack of bullet-proof walker hounds.

I've used Nose Jammer, for a few years, with mixed results

Been using it for two years. Won't be long though before a deer will make the connection of nose jammer and humans. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry were using it last year. I'll keep using it with an Ozonics until I feel I'm getting busted. My .02 FWIW

I purchased an external frame pack to mount my climber to. I hope/plan to use it to pack out field dress hogs and deer.

Probably won't work.

ETA

I keep it in my truck and use it whenever I can find an excuse to. I have also packed around my kids, one at a time isn't bad, two wears me out. I like to do that right now when snakes are out.

I have to agree with this. We hunt in MS and those old deer get smarter every year.

I hunt some in Warren Co. Lots of folks using it. Here in East Tx, not so much.
