Looking to put a 2" leveling kit on my 2013 F-150. I've been doing some research on it and some sites suggest using the Bilstein Adjustable Shocks instead.

Going to be putting some BFG T/A KO 285/65/20 tires on after.

Experiences with either? Pros/cons?

Both will work fine. I went with a AS spacer because I have heard that the shocks will stiffen up your ride. Granted, my front end components will wear faster, but till then, my ride will be superior.

Plus, my truck was brand new and did not need new shocks.

I read that as well.

Mine is too, got it in May, ~16000 miles on it now

ETA: Seems like the Leveling kit will work just fine plus its quite a bit cheaper than new shocks.

Any suggestions on which leveling kit to use?

I've seen AutoSpring, Daystar, Roughneck, Hell bent and Ready lift ones are about double the price of all the rest.

damn, putting that many miles in that short of a period, i'd probably stay stock

those larger/wider tires are gonna have a decent effect on your gas mileage

Had a daystar. Hated it.

Got a AS and love it. I cannot comment on the other brands but AS has worked great for me and is by far the cheapest/most popular.

Yeah I travel some for work, not too concerned about the gas mileage, haven't paid for gas since I started work about a year and a half ago, company picks up all of it.

Where you getting yours put on at? Or are you doing it? I'm in same situation as you. I decided LK, but now im trying to decide between 2.5 and 2 level. Right now my truck has a 2.25 rake, so I may do 2 so it doesn't sit nose high.

I've contemplated installing the Leveling kit myself, but I'm not very automotive savvy.

Probably just get put on at a local off-road shop around my area and then get the truck aligned and tires installed at Discount.

ETA: 2" Leveling kit, most likely the AS one, its only about $80

how much you getting the tires for? Are you selling the stock wheels?

ETA: How much rake do you have right now?

AutoSpring sells a 2.5"F and 3"R kit. It makes the truck look much taller (because it is) but leaves a tiny bit of rake.

Mine has the max tow so I got the AS 2.5"F and a Ebay 2.5" rear block.

Keep in mind that the rear stock block is 1.5" or so. I forget the exact height as I think its 1 3/8".

Tires are 1600 out the door at Discount, haven't found many places cheaper than that.

ETA: Not buying new wheels

I have 5100s on my Tacoma and they ride better than stock. Bilstein valves them to compensate for the preload added to the springs.

If I had it to do all over I would have went with a high end coil over like Icon, Fox, or King. I do go off-road quite a bit though.

Would you consider adding a leaf to the back instead of the rear block?

Also, twice as expensive. Granted, I will probably go with them when my stock shocks wear out but no sense in spending more money than necessary.

Didn't think about that, still doing some research on this shite.

So you removed the stock block in the back and added a 2.5" instead?

They aren't bad for the Taco ($300 for all 4 corners), but I have no idea of the price for the Fords.

Spacers work fine for on road and light offroad, but because they limit down travel can lead to this in rough offroading.

Does someone make a progressive AAL for Fords. They ride pretty well on Tacos. Single AALs ride horribly.

Blocks aren't really that bad until you get into the bigger sizes.

Hell my 02 chevy came stock with a 2.5" block.
