Flat boats are hard as hell to paddle. Get a small engine(go devil or outboard) that is easy to move around and can be carried. If you want to paddle, get a pirogue, but the trade off with that is fishability
Only thing I ask is next time you see a yacker, tip their boat over, point, and laugh.

I see people in Bossier parking on the side of Arthur Teague to bank fish all the time now. Although they are not launching, there is not much difference. Especially since Bossier PD is pretty tight around that area, I know you are down south, but what Im getting at is that if they can do it in a pretty strict spot without getting messed with, you should be fine. Might get JimBeam to chime in...

To the OP, most of the bridges over the Comite/Amite/other Fla parish rivers have unimproved public areas under the bridge where combat launches are feasible. Some are more difficult than others. I've launched from all the bridges over the Comite from Hwy 10 west of Clinton to Deerford. Unless you see a posted sign they are probably public, and evidence of bank fishermen is usually a good sign. Drive on both sides and look for vehicle tracks.

My motto has always been: It's easier to get forgiveness, than permission. If it floats your boat launch that rascal. I hardly think the worse case scenario(ticket) would cost much more than using a private pay launch and you'll probably just get a warning if anything.

Every piece of land is owned by someone Jack. In your situation it's either owned by the state/parish or by a private party. If you can drop your

DOTD buys/condemns ample amounts of land surrounding bridges. If it is private, there is generally a fence or posted signs.
Personally, I like the upper Comite better than Thompson's Creek, which is wide and very shallow except when the Miss backs up. Much better bass fishing on upper Comite, though there are lots of snags and pull overs. Way easier to get a canoe or kayak thru there than a bateau, no matter how small. Once you get downstream of Deerford, it gets bigger with less snags so a bateau is more doable.

in this type of situation, just use commons sense
if it is a heavily used launch site, should not be a problem, but if it looks like no one uses the spot to launch, and there are POSTED signs everywhere, it probably isn't a good idea to park your truck there

Just get far enough off of the road so it doesn't make people gawk or slam on the brakes. As long as it doesn't disrupt traffic, you should be good. If you are under a bridge, how the hell would someone know you are there?

Just keep in mind you will be on private land. Some landowners may not be friendly.
