Looking to install some LED lighting for night fishing in my boat. Ordered some and got them in and they aren't what I wanted. Wire gauge is so small I don't think they would stand up to much use. Anyone do this and can share a source/input? Thanks

You dont need heavy wire for LED, just make sure it wont get ripped or cut

Thanks. Yea it would need to be tucked out of the way securely. Wire is so fine I am having trouble splicing it to the longer wire needed to connect to battery.

Use marine speaker wire. I found it works best for the small led wires. Worked fine when I wired my last boat. Mine from this weekend

When I was installing LED lights with the small wire leads, I went ahead and benchtop soldered larger diameter leads onto the wire that came with them. That made it easier to connect once the supply lines were run. In my case, the wiring was already there that I wanted to tap into.

Solder it near the source to some heavier gauge and then add some strain relief to make sure it doesn't get accidentally pulled apart.

I added some cheap led waterproof strips to my boat and so far they've worked great. I have catwalks so they were easy to hide but they're pretty good for the price.

I mainly use them when I'm bowfishing so the mosquitos are coming either way

Go to eBay, order waterproof 15ft strings, get 5050s or 5630s, they are the brightest. Have them on my boat for the last 3 years and I use it weekly

They draw so little power they don't need heavy gauge wire. My sone just used several strips and all works well!
