lawnmower starts then kills

Any ideas? Thus far I have changed the fuel, the oil, the spark plug, cleaned out the air filter and cleaned out the carburetor. The only thing I haven't done is check the fuel line but as far as I can tell there is no fuel filter to be clogged or
change.
Mower is a Craftman's Gold 6.75 horsepower.

If it has a primer bulb check for a crack in it. That is one thing that is over looked at times.

I hate my craftsman mower . Just have to make it two more months , going to blow it up after that ...

When I did mine, I put the governor on wrong, and it did exactly that

Replace the needle and needle seat (gasket) in the carb. Worked for me earlier this yr.

If it's the Kohler engine, it can vapor lock. Try running it without the gas cap for a few minutes.

Nothing against OP but using the word "kills" in this sense is a huge pet peeve of mine. It should be "dies."

gotta be a fuel problem...pull the line off the carb and be sure fuel runs out.

But it doesnt really "die" now does it. Maybe it should be it starts and then the engine stops running. But its not running is it, oh damn.
