Look how thick the tail is on this then look at that cat. There's no comparison. It's a big feral tom standing on a hill

From what I measured, he's only 80-100 FEET away.

I am going to try and get my kids out there and make a video to show scale. That is not a large field at all. I am going to try to do it tomorrow or this weekend.

It could be a big cat.
My cat is a tux black & white who weighs 27 lbs and pretty long.

I have a tractor customer just North of Hammond who insists cougars are taking his livestock, claims to have lost 9 cattle last 2 years. Several originally survived the attack and the wounds were determined to be by a large cat. I have my doubts

There is a verified spotting of a mountain lion about 100-150 miles north of there.

Not saying it is or isn’t but it isn’t out of the realm of possibilities

The last time I was in that area I was scuba diving in a nearby lake and saw a catfish as big as a Volkswagen

That location though. No wild cat would be there in the daytime.

The greatest trick the devil cat ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

Man I've alwayse called bs on big cats around here but that sure does look like one. I don't care if he's 50 feet from him that is a big sum bitch.

ETA: also, I read earlier that big cats used to be common around here 100 years ago.

Big cats used to be common in a lot of places 100 years ago.

But the fact that there are no other videos of this cat, when you can clearly see that multiple other drivers are present, and it's in a well-developed area with the largest woodlot being about 10 acres, AND it's the middle of the day?!

Common sense tells me that nothing adds up here and there is no way that's a cougar. Very big house cat, sure. But not a cougar.

Hell, the damn thing is acting like a house cat. And the grass is up to it's belly. That grass isn't that tall (you can see the unmowed grass against a mowed strip in the foreground).

We have tom cats on the farm that big that chase rats, snakes, and one chased a wild boar. His name is big baby and he weighs 35lbs and my wives house cats father. When the vet comes she checks my farm cats out and they have to drug him so he don't break out of his cage. He busted up the last cage I got him for his vet visits.

He looks like a wild cat if you would not know he is a farm cat.

He sly. A wild boar chased him. He gave him the shake and went in a tree. The boar kept circling the tree. That cat jumped down on top of the pig on his back and clawed his eyes out. That pig ran for the fields and I never seen that pig again.

He killed a fox and baby coyote ok and a few baby wild pigs, he loves to chase & kill chickens, attacks my labs, and howls like a dog. He is mouthy also meowing at me a lot.

Yeah, Tom cats can get big. Don't get a tux they are mouthy he keeps meowing at me like he trying to talk to me. He just a big ole baby at heart and when I am outside sitting on a tailgate of the truck and he is around he jumps on my lap and likes me to pet him. He hisses at people next to me he don't know but he won't hurt a fly.
