I would start in the boulevard and work along the levee. Actually, before you do that, work around the house boats just north of the launch. There's fish hanging around there sometimes. I know one of them has a brush pile under it. I forget which one. It's like the second or third one maybe.

If no luck, I'd head to the willow mounds.

Yep. Hard to tell on the map, but there is an opening by the bridge that lets you get over into the canal that runs parallel to the highway.

ETA: its about a mile from the launch to the willow mounds. Not too bad, but a good paddle.

I'm gonna be out there tomorrow afternoon. Gonna try to get out of work as early as possible and fish till dark.

Mostly I'm gonna be looking for frog spots. I got an envie for some frog blowups. Gonna bring the GoPro just in case I get some good action. I'll throw some crankbaits and plastics too.

I got my whopper plopper out of the box and rigged up for top water Saturday morning. I'm hoping to get lucky and catch one on top water.

Yall every throw any craw or creature baits in Henderson? I've caught a couple on a black and red speed craw, but I've never had any luck with a Z-craw or lizard or brush hog.

Maybe I'm working them incorrectly.

I used to throw nothing but speed craw. Still do on occasion. Mainly use it as a jig trailer now. I mostly throw lizard pre spawn and spawn.

Shad colored crankbaits
Topwater popper
Black frog
Watermelon colored senko/worm

That's what I've caught nearly all of my fish on this year over there.

That's the only other color I own. I use white more in open water or overcast days. But when it's bright and sunny, the black frog casts a big silhouette on the water. Gives a little better contrast.
