This is a movement that is happening across the country right now in an effort to get more people hunting

People weren't hunting because they didn't like the color orange? If that's the case, seems like they'll find another excuse.

I figured it was motivated by a desire to sell more hunting clothes.

Yep, plus gurl power and what not. Meanwhile, tax rates are being raised and still not a word about meaningful spending cuts. What a joke.

I can see pink in the wood a bit better than orange.

it it my understanding that pink is "more visible" to the eye than orange. So why orange? The color pink fades in UV light (sunlight). So, orange colored clothing was supposed to last longer and not fade as easily. This is why escape boats on oil rigs and platforms are orange and not pink.

Just speculating here, but the closer you get to red, the more you lose in low light. Low light seems to be the problem time for people shooting.

One of those links quotes studies suggesting pink is more visible. I'd like to see the study...

My optometrist friend said deer can pick up blues and yellows but not sure about pink. For humans he said for pink and orange they are both toward the higher frequency end of the spectrum. Pink probably a little higher because it's closer to red (highest). In a real world woods setting though, it seems blaze orange would be easier to pick up.
