Or at least I think it's bluemoons... I gotta say this is one of the best fishing podcast I've heard. I caught myself chuckling in the truck because so much was relatable. Particularly taking friends fishing who don't fish much. They just assume you slay every time. Great stuff

Damnit I've been discovered.

Seriously though, I'm much more of an authority on how to get pissed off at fish than how to actually catch them. Either way, I'm glad y'all enjoyed it.

eta: here's a link with some videos and stuff, even though I've posted them all here.

Hey Blue, did you fish the Tito's tourney Sat at Sweetwater? I saw what looked like the boat in a few of your videos, leaving out. Ya'll won a Bird Dog lawn chair or something?
They gave out some pretty good money for that tourney.

Nah man. My padna with the long hair in most of our videos did though. He was one of the only two boats that left at first light . He's got a 18" Maverick with a console tower on it.

I've always enjoyed the videos you post here and I've been listening to that podcast since it came out. There was so much on there I can relate to. Everything you said about a fishing partner was dead on. I fish with my dad most the time and we bounce ideas off each other, and like you said, sometimes it takes one of us saying "this ain't working, change of plans". Seems like when he takes out buddies or when I take out buddies, we catch less fish than when we fish together. 2 brains better than one.

I thought about listening, but instead went out and caught 150 specks in 30 minutes.

I couldn't take his voice or the interview questions. Seems like a good guy but his interviews remind me of Farley interviewing Paul McCartney on SNL.

They're pretty vanilla, I agree. His whole operation is solid though. Pretty much the best resource for inshore fishermen in the state.

It's really hard for guys that don't know what they're doing to wade through all the bullshite on LAS-like forums. His site keeps it real, so I think it's a really good thing. Not to mention he doesn't put specific spots on blast, which is also great. His goal is to teach people how to fish instead of where to fish, and I think we need more of that.

I agree with that but I don't find a lot of substantive fishing info in his podcasts. After 10 minutes of 2 dudes talking about the "worst fishing trip they ever had" I had to turn it off.

Can't please everyone I guess. Anything positive that encourages people to learn how to fish instead of where to fish is good by me.

I agree. His how to instrasd of where to approach is unique and a much better read than anything on Lasm

So I'm bumping this. The LA fish blog crew got ahold of this thread, and Devin asked me to ask you guys which questions you'd like to hear on the podcasts? His goals with LA fishing blog are angler oriented and he wants to make the podcast as informative and useful as possible, so what do you guys want to hear?

Waypoints.

ETA: Jk. Just talk about fishing south LA and the interesting things you've seen while doing so. Each time I go out bowfishing I see something crazy. I'm sure you guys are the same. I've been waiting a long time for a Louisiana fishing podcast. I even tried listening to some fool in Canada. Didn't last long.

ETA2: If he wants to get specific, talk about quality products that fishermen might not know about, different fishing techniques (Carolina rig vs drop shot), what to look for when targeting reds, specks, flounder, how you approach sight fishing, etc. Get "experts" or experienced fisherman on the pod and ask them specific questions about their area of expertise. Have listeners write in with their stories. Get the audience involved.

Well, I think the unfortunate reality is there's only so informative you can make questions without literally asking fishermen to give away personal info like waypoints. Like short of saying "these are my favorite redfish ponds and this is where you can find them," there's only so much I can tell people about looking for moving water, bait, and grass. Or like what to do with a west wind to still be successful. Stuff like that?

I know he does some product reviews here and there, so I'll forward that info along too.

That's the problem with fishing podcasts. There's only so much you can say about technique.

However, with my favorite ponds, I can describe what makes them great without giving away location. That type of stuff would be helpful to new fishermen.

Technique and strategy for new fishermen.
Interesting stories and products for experienced fishermen.
