I grew up on that lake. Only fish it for Chinq's now. Not sure, but there may be a few posters who can give you some tips. Bump this thread in the morning. I do know that this time of year was when we smoked em at night. Good luck!

I grew up on that lake as well. My cousin would catch bass off of our boat dock, but mostly he fished for brim. I don't have much to offer since I never fished.

Always was a hard lake for me to figure out. If you have some good electronics you can find some good stuff that holds fish like humps and some deeper grass. That really is the key out there. Good luck.

I grew up in that area and did pretty good using a rattle trap when the bass were schooling...
always had trouble with the jackfish when working the bank, though...
fwiw, fish for a while and then hit tunks' oyster bar for your best use of time...

A Kincaid expert should be here shortly.

My father bought me a ski boat when I was 14 and paid the gas tab at the launch...we pretty much lived on the water. Girls in bikinis beats the frick out of fishing to a youngster in Alexandria. It was freedom, and boy was it fun.

The nickname for Kincaid here in Cenla is "The Dead Sea". Don't waste your time there! Its worth the hour drive to Toledo.

Haha we also call Indian Creek the Dead Sea.

Usually my go to lake for a 1/2 day trip.
Had some great trips in the fall/ winter when they're loading up in the creeks. Good lake when they are bedding too, very clear water and doesnt get as much attention as Indian Creek. This time of year... night fishing, or have good electronics for deep holes.

I'll be posting some chinq pics from there in the coming weeks.

Don't use big line. Water is clear and you won't get a bite.
Schooling is sometimes good late in the afternoon toward the tressel (south end).
Fish bite much better at night. JUNEBUG brush hogs and big worms always worked best for me on creek channel edges and main lake humps. Deep cranking is what I do in the daytime.
Good luck - hard fishing but there's a few big'uns in there. Alx and I use to have a little luck when we were young bucks.
