Just found out I lost my duck blind, so I come to the ob for help. Looking for something within an hour of Lafayette that would run me around $4,000 to $5,000 tops, Thanks

This is needed if you expect folks to turn you on to friends/family that might lease blinds.

According to where you are at. Some farms in NELA are getting 2 times that much if not a little more. Call Delta Land Management in Mer Rouge, LA. and ask about blind lease prices on Woodsland Plantation. It blows my mind.

Land owner said he wanted to keep it so that he could take his grandchildren. Been there for 7 years now. Not so sure that the guy that leases two other blinds from him (deeper pockets and been trying to get our spot for years now) did not throw enough money at the land owner for a package deal that the owner had no choice but to take deal? Either way I'm out and now on the market

Deer hunting is WAY cheaper than duck hunting.

Deer lease < Duck blind

Box of 30-06 < Box of steel shot

Warm camo < warm clothes, and waders

Deer meat >>>> Duck meat

The defense rest its case

I do both, don't know which I'd pick if I had to choose one.

It's in my blood and I need my fix, so someone find me a place to hunt please. Was going to be my sons first year to hunt, and my dog might turn on me if she can't pick up any birds

Myself, I'm just not mad at the deer anymore. Now ducks? I can frick up a duck in a heart beat. I lost my least last year and had yet found anything within 75 miles of Baton Rounge. Now if we have a wet winter, then I am set for all the woodies I want, but one get tired of that fast. Its not the same as real duck hunting. Hell, the woodies land in my pond in the yard. That along with some land that I own has great bottoms that fill up with woodies.

I gave up deer hunting a few years ago, but still hunt then now and then late in the season. The past 30 years I always killed my best buck after the first of the year.
