Just bought a Springfield XDM 9mm for $499 **Update**

I've seen a few posts on here lately about the springfield XD's. I just bought mine from Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore for $499 new. Seemed to be the best deal I could find. Add $20 for shipping and $20 for FFL transfer, and it was still cheaper than most other online sites.

More importantly, I can't wait to get it and put it through it's paces.
UPDATE:
Just bumping this thread, after receiving my gun. It got delayed because my credit card denied it as a fraud protection. (I'm an OT poor college student so that large of a purchase is an abnormality
) So I had to get that straightened out..
Sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. It seemed like a smallish organization because they started remembering who I was after just a few calls. I was unsure of the site when I first ordered it, but everything was on the up and up, plus this particular gun was cheaper than I saw anywhere else. Just thought I would share my experience with the site for those looking to make purchases. They have some really good prices going right now.

I should get it Mid Week next week, so I'll be sure to drop you a line next time I go and we can put a few boxes through it.
I went to precision firearms and fired the Glock 19 (almost surely gen3) and the XD9 (not m) just to get an idea of how they handled. It was only $10 per gun rental. They had the xd(m) compact there so I was able to feel it in my hand, but it wasn't for rental.

I looked into the full size XDM 40 with the 4 1/2 barrel, but I ended up getting a good deal on a Magnum Research MR40. I'm really happy with it.

Indeed. As soon as I held it I knew it was perfect. Like cinderellas slipper
ETA: although I got the compact with the intent of possibly using it as my CC when I get certified, but it might be a tad too thick to use it as such.
