Jerk cords in the marsh - what do you secure the main line to?

I just started hunting a shallow flooded grassy area of a lake here in OK and am having trouble figuring out how to secure the tag-end of my jerk cord. Typically I'm surrounded by wooded cover and tie it to that, but where we are it is only reeds and nothing substantial to tie to.
For guys that hunt the marsh with a portable jerk string, what do you use to secure the tag end of the line?
Thanks.
Just for reference, this is what the lake we're hunting looks like...

I use an old mojo pole.

Jerk cord? Bring some rocks and toss them near the decoys.

Use a .5" conduit. You can use it for a mojo pole as well, just have to hammer the end of the conduit flat and then hammer it folded back on itself. $3 and you can make it as long as you need it instead of dicking around with the mojo stakes that are inevitably too short for most hunting.

P.S. you can spray paint the conduit green or brown if you like to have it stick up a bit.

Do you mean the end out in the water after the decoys? If so just get a mushroom anchor.

Nah I have an anchor. I didn't know how to secure the other end of it. I don't want it tied to me, that's for sure. Normally I would tie it tight to some woody structure behind me so I could just reach out and jerk the taut line for movement. Since I have no woody structure nearby, I wasn't sure what else to afix the tag end to. I was already thinking conduit and that's probably the direction I'll go, I just wanted to see what the OB had to say.

What ab an old mojo pole? I've always got some of them laying around

A stick drove in the mud, a cinder block, t-post drove in the mud, etc. and so forth.

Not high enough. I am already using an extension pole on the mojos out there. Water is about mid-thigh and I want something sticking out of the water at least a foot so I don't have to reach underwater every time I grab the jerk cord.
