Last day I'm hunting this turkey for a while and I'm going to get soaked.

Hunted yesterday evening and stayed the night. Now it's pouring. Thinking of heading home and coming back tomorrow when the weather is better

65 degrees and foggy. The mosquitoes are gearing up. The Toms are awfully quiet. Going to have to earn it today

sitting this one out. Went yesterday had a good hunt had two 2 year olds close but could never see them when close. Saw them several times 50-70 yards out but wasn't that mad at them. Going again on Sunday or Sat pm, tomorrow looks to be crap again.
Good luck to those out in this!

I was going to also, but saw it's supposed to be rough weather tonight. I roosted one a couple years ago (actually saw the bird in the tree at dark) on a night just like tonight is going to be. Bad weather passed during the night, was out there the next morning early, fricking turkey switched trees sometime in the middle of the night. He gobbled about 100 yds away. I know I definitely didn't spook him. The only thing I could figure was after midnight when the storm passed he couldn't stand sitting there soaked until daylight without moving and for some reason moved. After that I quit trying to roost them before bad weather. If the weather blows out before daylight tomorrow it should be a decent morning. Sunday will be great I think. Tomorrow we'll all be soaking wet before daylight, but that's part of it I suppose.
Where I'm hunting they aren't gobbling. The turkey I killed last Saturday never gobbled one time. I'm pretty sure the weather has them messed up. Hell, where I hunt there still isn't a leaf on a tree (wasn't on Monday anyway). It's still January up there. Strange year indeed.

Stormed all night. Quit just in time to go in the woods. Not a gobble was heard at daylight. About 7:25 a tree fell and a bird shock gobbled at it. I hit my feet and flat footed it for 200 yds. Sat down and yelped. He answered!! I waited 10 minutes and yelped lightly. He answered and this time he was close. Had a hen try to pull him but I cut and yelped excitingly and he gobbled. Then I finally saw him so I let him come to 30 yards and yelped again. I let him gobble again then blew his mother loving head off.

Heard nothing off the roost. Got on one at 8, chased him for 2 hours and what seemed like miles. After finally bumping him by trying to get too close, decided to head back to the truck. About 200 yards from the truck I see 6 hens in a clearcut so I decide to call once just to see. He cuts me off about 200 yards away. I get parallel with him the call again. He cuts me off at 100 yards. I sit down then he shakes my head at 40 yards and pops out in the road. Ended it right there. Whole thing lasted about 2 minutes.
