This is true. While I've killed a few running, most deer are killed "slipping". Common misconception.
I'm not for an all out ban, but do think we need more regulations to get serious with the trespassers. If strides aren't made all you boys are gonna have to get poodles to sit the box stand with you.

Yes but according to this thread the law takes to long, And is ineffective. I should just be able to shoot your dog if it bothers me.
Are you really not getting it ?

I've not seen anyone say that if they see a dog, they should follow it back to the other property, and shoot the dog while penned in the back of their truck.

really? Do they work? And how many dog hunters actually use them?

I would bet that it is in the single digit percentage.

However, if your dog constantly crosses the yard and comes in my bedroom at night and keeps me from sleeping and you don't care because he's just being a dog. Yes, I will shoot the dog

I just don't see increasing regulation having an effect on anybody except me.
Some of you would get increased problems. Remember who you're dealing with here. They'll start doing it just to spite you.

well good
honestly, if there is a way to not ban dog hunting, I'm all for it. Perhaps having those collars, and registering the dogs as hunting dogs could be a regulation to help.

And I would be like eff me. My fault.

I have the regular GPS collar without the shock rig. It works very well.
You don't need it where I hunt though. The dogs have to cross a canal or highway to leave our place. The deer don't like crossing either one, so the dogs don't either.

I was talking about neighbor dogs that bark at night,
You were equating my suggestion to shoot dogs running deer on my property, to you being able to tresspass on my property and being allowed to shoot my dog.

I think this is the whole problem.

I disagree. They would be doing it in spite of the law, not of me. Much more serious

I say we price out the people leasing less than 1000 acres :coco2:
