Man, I wish I could hunt as much as I used to(every day). Unfortunately sneaking property isn't in my bag of tricks as a 28yr old. Been in trouble too much to get popped for that.

Baton Rouge actually has some pretty good areas for deer hunting. Just gotta know how to get out quickly

A little back story on this buck. When I got in my stand this morning before daylight he was eating corn and rice bran in my food plot. I had seen a high rack 5pt a few days ago and I didn't want to shoot him. I had my scope on 16 trying to see horns and when I could see he was big enough to shoot I put it behind his shoulder and shot him. I heard the bullet hit but it was too early to tell his reaction. I got down when it was light enough to see and couldn't find blood or anything so I thought I missed. I started thinking about the shot and I thought he was further than I looked plus I saw crows out in the cut over cutting up in one spot. At 9 I got down and instead of being further he was actually closer than I thought only ran maybe 40yds.

BTW the picture makes him look bigger than he is. 14-15" wide but he is tall.

Nascar he wasn't real fat long and lanky deer.
